About Us

ADVANTAGE TAMPA BAY TENNIS, INC., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Florida corporation which promotes recreational tennis both in the Tampa Bay Area and through the GLTA (Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance) of which we are a member league. We are a gay-friendly league and welcome all levels of players from beginner to open. Facilities that commonly host our events include the Sandra Freedman Tennis Complex, Tampa Tennis Center at Hillsborough Community College, Harbour Island Athletic Club, Julian B. Lane Riverfront and MacFarlane Parks in Tampa, and Puryear Park in St Petersburg.

Board of Directors

Advantage Tampa Bay's Board of Directors meets once a month to direct the league's administration, events and programs. Board members are elected every February and serve one-year terms. Any currently-registered member who is interested in serving a term is encouraged to apply during the nomination period starting January 1st of each year.

Greg Barker

Chairperson

Greg is a six year member of ATB and serving his fifth year on the ATB Board. When not playing tennis, Greg enjoys theater, theme parks and traveling.

Joey Wilson

Treasurer

Joey relocated to Tampa in 2017 for work from Nashville, TN. He joined ATB in 2018 when he first started to play tennis. When not playing tennis Joey is involved with Bowling (Friday Night Playmates), Softball (Suncoast Softball League), Kickball and Volleyball organizations in the Tampa Bay area. AKA Sporty Spice.

Henri Pichal

Competitive Director

Henri moved back to his native Tampa, Florida after graduating from the University of Texas. He works locally as an HR Director for a government defense contractor. When not on the court, Henri enjoys hitting the beach or dining out.

Daniel Cribb

Tournament Director

Daniel hails from Lakeland and is a graduate of the University of Florida. He is an educator with Hillsborough County Public Schools and an adjunct professor at the University of Tampa. Daniel has served on the ATB Board since 2012 and has served as the Tournament Director from 2012-2014 and 2017-present.

Jonathan Larrea

Social Membership Director

Jonathan is a born and raised local to the Tampa Bay area. He grew up watching tennis, but only started playing after graduating college from University of Central Florida, and now plays as much as his schedule allows!
